I've been on the road in North America a lot lately delivering one day .NET overview and migration seminars in cooperation with ISUG.
Last week I had a special treat. I traveled to Tel Aviv Israel to deliver an extended two day version of my seminar. My local sponsor was NessPro, Ness Technologies, the official Sybase distributor in Israel. Nestor Cohen, Development Solutions Manager was my local partner. Nestor really knows the local PowerBuilder community. According to Nestor, there are about 250 PowerBuilder developers in the country. PowerBuilder applications support business processes in many sectors of the Israel's flourishing economy including, military, government, telecom, and health care. Twenty developers turned out for the two day event which was held in Ness University, a state of the art training facility.
I used this event to roll out pieces of my new Mastering Essential WPF / XAML with PowerBuilder .NET course. We did lots of hands on coding and there were many, many great questions as these bright top shelf developers got engaged in mastering .NET basics. To my pleasant surprise, several of the shops present were already engaged in test migrating some of their applications. They came armed with lots of real world questions and situations.
